Both the mentioned CRM Solution are new generation cloud based CRM Solutions offering rich feature set to its customers. Both the applications are good in their own way. Whereas ZohoCRM is intended to be more of ready to be used CRM application for any typical organization, SugarCRM is meant to be an enterprise wide CRM application and for a more professional setup requiring advanced functionality. Though both the applications can be customized, ZohoCRM has inbuilt model where all the additional add-ons are charged. This forms the core of Zoho’s revenue model. Some add-ons are charged monthly and some are based on transaction volumes.

Due to the reasons stated above, it is therefore not unusual that many companies have migrated from Zoho to SugarCRM.

Explained – Why Zoho to SugarCRM Migration

As discussed earlier, there are reasons why companies may want to migrate from Zoho to SugarCRM. Lets look into the details to understand it in depth. Lets say you are business owner of a fast growing small / medium enterprise which has implemented Zoho to start with. As your business grows, you feel the need for added features. You discover now that you need to pay for them as you use. This is very cleverly built into model of Zoho. However this is not the only reason. Lets drill down further into this.

A. Ecosystem Comparison

Both the solution has strong ecosystem of partners and developers. However one thing which strikes you is that SugarCRM has a literally huge market place where many plug-ins are free for download.

B. Closed Versus Open

Zoho is a commercial product. It needs to make money out of you. As you need more features or even you data to be exported, they charge you. SugarCRM is open and flexible, you can deploy the solution on your premise and customize it to a large extent by drag and drop feature of studio.

C. Enterprise Class / Versus Starter CRM

Zoho is widely used by smaller organization as the starter package is free. On growth or changing business needs, they migrate from Zoho. SugarCRM has been into SME segment as well. However now it is being used by big names like IBM, BMW etc. There are many company with user base of more than 1000 that are now on SugarCRM. Although it doesn’t make much of a difference to small business owners, but consider this – Why implement and later migrate, when you can directly implement SugarCRM and save money and time later?
